Spring Concert
The Belle Valley Community Band will be presenting a Spring Concert on Sunday May 4, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at Almont High School gymn (off Howland Rd.) The concert is free to the public and will feature guest conductors Steven Burns and Christine Dodge along with regular BVCB conductor Dennis Burns.
Music to be performed includes The Big Cage Circus Galop by Karl L. King, Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo by
Malcolm Arnold, Bayou Breakdown by Brant Karrick, Lux Arumque by Eric Whitacre, Cajun Folk Songs by Frank Ticheli, Amparito Roca by Jaime Texidor, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine by John Philip Sousa, The Padstow Lifeboat March by Malcolm Arnold, Heroic Saga by Robert Jager, Roller Coaster: A Symphonic Sketch by Otto M. Schwartz, and Andante and Rondo for 2 Flutes and Wind Ensemble by Franz Doppler. The latter piece will feature BVCB flutists Kim Teal and Christine Dodge as soloists.

A free-will offering will be accepted at the door to support the band and there will be cookies and punch in the cafeteria afterward. We hope to see you there!
It's Christmas in January!
(Concert Rescheduled)
The Belle Valley Community Band Christmas Concert has been rescheduled for Sunday January 13, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Almont High School Auditorium in Almont, MI (off Howland Rd.) The concert is free to the public and will feature Scenes from "The Louvre" by Norman Dello Joio, Armenian Folk Song and Dance by Aram Khachaturian, Finale from Symphony No. 6 by Peter I. Tchaikovsky, A Praetorius Prelude by Douglas Akey, Fantasia on a Myth of Ancient Greece by BVCB conductor Brian McCloskey, Pat-a-Pan by Bernard de la Monnoye as arranged by Chip Davis, The Nutcracker Suite by Peter I. Tchaikovsky, and Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. Pre-concert and intermission music will also be performed by special guests
The Blue Water Low Brass Ensemble.

  Spring Concert
The Belle Valley Community Band will be presenting a Spring Concert on Sunday April 29, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Almont Middle School Auditeria, Almont, MI (off Howland Rd., behind the high school.) The concert is free to the public and will feature First Suite in Eb by Gustav Holst, The Immovable Do by Percy Grainger, The March from "1941" by John Williams, Variations on a Korean Folk Song by John Barnes Chance, America, the Beautiful by Samuel A. Ward, Seventy-six Trombones from "The Music Man" by Meredith Willson, March Electric by Giuseppe Creatore, and Concertpiece for Solo Horn and Wind Ensemble by Camille St.-Saens, with Brian McCloskey performing the horn solo.

A free-will offering will be accepted at the door to support the band and there will be cookies and punch in the cafeteria afterward. We hope to see you there!

The Belle Valley Community Band will be presenting a Christmas Concert on Sunday December 10, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Almont Middle School Auditeria, Almont, MI (off Howland Rd., behind the high school.) The concert is free to the public and will feature Army of the Nile Quick March by Kenneth Alford, Old Scottish Melody by Charles Wiley, A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson, Chester Overture by William Schumann, Montmarte March by Haydn Wood, Angels from the Realms of Glory by Robert W. Smith, First Movement from Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven, and Holiday Overture by Kenneth Soper.

  Spring Concert 
The Belle Valley Community Band will be presenting a Spring Concert on Sunday April 23, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Dryden High School Auditorium, Dryden, MI. The concert is free to the public and will feature Steven Burns in A Trumpeter's Lullaby by Leroy Anderson and the trombone section in Lassus Trombone by Henry Fillmore. Other music to be performed includes Molly On the Shore by Percy Grainger, Victory at Sea: Symphonic Scenario by Richard Rodgers/Bennett, Woodwind Marmalade arranged by Andy Clark, The Gallant Boulevardier March by John Cacavas, Liebestod by Richard Wagner/Bainum, Pavanne from Symphonette No. 2 by Morton Gould with guest conductor Christine Dodge, and Symphonic Dance No. 3, "Fiesta" by Clifton Williams. This concert will also be David Coon's last performance as a director of the band after 17 years of wonderful concerts, so we hope you will join us in wishing him well as he retires from conducting the band and takes up his trombone full-time.

The Belle Valley Community Band will be presenting a Winter Concert on Sunday February 26, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Dryden High School Auditorium, Dryden, MI. The concert is free to the public and will feature The Whistler and His Dog by Arthur Pryor, Fantasy on a Fiddle Tune by Pierre La Plante, Mannin Veen: Dear Isle of Mann by Haydn Wood, Zampa Overture by L. J. F. Herold, Benny Goodman: The King of Swing arranged by Paul Murtha, Tamboo by Francisco Cavez, Finale from Symphony No. 5 in Bb by Franz Schubert, and Klaxon March by Henry Fillmore. A free-will offering will be accepted at the door to support the band and there will be cookies and punch in the cafeteria afterward. We hope to see you there!
